We are currently hiring for a Business Analyst in Lansing, MI for a 7-month contract assignment.

This Business Analyst position focuses on activities on supporting contracts; serves as the subject matter expert and point of contact for information technology contracts and purchasing activities for division projects and operational services.

Position Description

This Business Analyst position focuses on activities on supporting contracts; serves as the subject matter expert and point of contact for information technology contracts and purchasing activities for division projects and operational services involving vendor contracts. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Serves as the division subject matter expert and point of contact for contracts, purchase orders and invoices;
  • Serve as the contracts point of contact to the Business & IT Support Services area;
  • Provide guidance to team members on the purchasing, contract management processes and request for proposal (RFP) and statement of work (SOW) preparation;
  • Assist team members with RFP and SOW creation; Work with Financial Specialist and other leaders to secure funding;
  • Ensure contract and purchase order (PO) spend within budget and contract value;
  • Analyze contracts, provide recommendations to Leadership to resolve contract issues;
  • Monitor future contract change needs;
  • Prepare invoices for approval; ensure deliverables are met in accordance with contract terms;
  • Reports to the division director or designee.

Required Experience

  • 11 years’ experience as a business analyst
  • 8 years’ experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs and requirements.
  • 8 years’ experience leading and providing direction to teams.
  • 8 years’ experience with business process reengineering and identifying new applications of technology to business problems to make business more effective.
  • 8 years’ experience analyzing, evaluating, and preparing solution options, risk identification, and financial analyses such as total cost of ownership, cost.
  • 8 years’ experience with knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within information technology, specifically, system development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • 8 years’ experience with ability to analyze business needs and solutions to determine deliverables to be included in SOWs or RFPs (e.g. disaster recovery).
  • 8 years’ experience with knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within information technology, specifically, system development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • 8 years’ experience negotiating; and experience with conflict analysis and resolution.
  • 8 years’ experience with good time management and tracking and monitoring tasks.
  • 3 years’ experience developing statements of work or requests for proposal (RFP).
