The Raise has partnered with our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking organization operating within the nuclear industry. Committed to excellence and innovation, they are seeking a talented and experienced mechanical technologist to join their team.

What you will be doing:

 

As the new Mechanical Technologist, you will report directly to the Operation Manager and you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and advice in analyzing and evaluating routine plant or field systems, equipment, and programs.

 

Practically speaking, you will:

 

·       Recommend procedures and methods, and prepare technical procedures, reports, and associated documentation

·       Provide field resolution to routine technical or process-related problems

·       Perform routine technical evaluations of events to determine root cause and recommend corrective action

·       Evaluate, select, and apply technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making adaptations and modifications

·       Plan and conducti routine technical or process-related assignments

·       Support field execution of various technologies

·       Have an opportunity to perform some duties remotely during times field presence is not required

 

 

The details:

·       This is a permanent full-time management position based in Pickering, Ontario, requiring office presence. The client offers a competitive salary and a flexible hybrid work schedule. ·       The client is open to considering contractors for this role as well.

·       Relocation support could be discussed for a qualified candidate.

What you will bring:

·       Related Canadian Utility and/or equivalent CANDU technology experience

·       Eligible for Nuclear Site Access Security Clearance at Canadian & US-based utilities prior to start of work

·       Experience in manufacturing and constructability methods

·       Ability to generate and check detailed design and fabrication drawings

·       Strong problem identification and resolution skills

·       Experience in manufacturing and constructability methods, ability to support constructability review meetings

·       Experience in generating and checking detailed design and fabrication drawings

·       Specialized knowledge in manufacturing methods, field execution, or process systems and good problem identification and resolution skills

·       Good communication skills, including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data and able to work effectively with all levels of staff and management

·       Ability to perform well in a field environment
