Who is the employer?

 

The Raise has partnered with our client, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality steel and aluminum bar grating, with manufacturing plants throughout North America. From power plants to petroleum refineries, shipyards to large scale factories, this client services major businesses throughout the industrial sector.

Now they are looking for you: their new Plant Superintendent to lead their daily operations and teams.

 

What you will be doing:

 

As the new Plant Superintendent, you will report directly to the Senior Site Manager and play a key role with responsibility to provide results driven leadership to all daily operations of the Plant floor and office positions reporting to you including Production Scheduler/Planner, Inventory Control, Logistics, Plant Floor Production Supervision, Plant Safety/Training.

Key areas of accountability include hands-on participation in plant activities, planning, budgeting, purchasing, resource management, scheduling, training, supplier network, best practices, quality, and continued improvement of responsible areas.

 

Practically speaking, you will oversee all activities of the positions listed above to include:

 

·      Interviewing and hiring of new shop floor personnel

·      Conduct daily morning Safety Meeting/Training sessions

·      Oversite of all required EHS Safety training

·      Maintain an organized production flow in the plant to include housekeeping

·      Consistently enforce all Safety, Attendance, and General Work rule policies

·      Work on flexible schedule until the job is done attitude

·      Work closely with Senior Site Manager on CAPEX budgets, manning levels, Safety, Quality and Productivity

·      Take responsibility of the site when the Senior Site Manager is offsite

 

The details:

 

This is a permanent full-time management position. The ideal candidate will be based in the Garrett, Indiana area and work in the manufacturing facility. This position offers competitive Salary to work for from Monday to Friday. What you will bring:

 

·      Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Engineering or related field

·      10+ years working experience in a manufacturing equipment processing environment with extensive experience in industrial manufacturing production (Steel manufacturing is preferable)

·      5-10 years of leadership and team management experience

·      Strong planning, organizational, analytical, communication, and networking skills

·      Team attitude; eager to cooperate with others with exceptional interpersonal communication skills

·      Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis

·      Ability to positively motivate individuals and teams to meet or exceed project expectations.

·      Leadership skills with the ability to effectively delegate work to subordinates, and the ability to evaluate and positively influence performance

·      Management style that complements company’s long-standing culture of high integrity throughout all areas of internal and external business and production activities

·      A willingness to apply extra effort and hours as needed

·      Competency with computer software Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, MS Access

·      Experience with manufacturing ERP software
