Raise is hiring a Project Manager for Our Client operated by the provincial government providing support not-for-profit organizations in healthcare, education, and community programs that deliver community programs across the province. This position is a one (1) year contract candidates can work remotely for anywhere in Canada. Client has offices located in Vancouver, and Kelowna British Columbia. Description

The Project Manager in this role will join our dynamic team playing a key role in delivering critical technology initiatives that support our business objectives. In this role, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from planning and initiation to execution, monitoring, and closure. You will lead and motivate a team of agile professionals, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Accountabilities 

  • Project Planning: developing project plans, defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Resource Allocation: assigning tasks to agile team members, allocating resources effectively to ensure project success.
  • Scheduling: creating project schedules, setting timelines, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Budget Management: estimating project costs, managing budgets, and controlling expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management: identifying potential risks, assessing their impact, and developing mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to the project.
  • Communication: keeping stakeholders informed about project progress, milestones, and any issues that may arise.
  • Team Leadership: providing guidance, motivation, and direction to agile team members, fostering collaboration, and ensuring high performance.
  • Quality Assurance: monitoring project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and align with project requirements.
  • Problem Solving: addressing issues and conflicts that arise during the project, finding solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Documentation: maintaining accurate project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes, for future reference and auditing purposes.
  • Other tasks as reasonably required by the Project Manager.

Required

  • Demonstrated experience with moderate to large technical implementations, preferably in the Identity & Access Management, Networking Systems, and Information Security spaces.
  • Recent, related experience in a leadership capacity, including the ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and provide guidance and support to agile team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with managing projects in kanban/agile style and utilizing work management tools such as Jira
  • In depth knowledge of project management methodologies and tools including scope management, work breakdown structures and scheduling, risk assessment, decision tree analysis, etc.
  • Experience with the gaming industry.
  • Experience working with a Crown corporation.
  • Experience with Evergreen IT and managing technical debt.
  • College degree or diploma in Technology.
  • Formal Project Management education or certification including Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent master’s certificate.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to translate business requirements into functional scope and specifications, and the ability to communicate complicated technical issues to technical, non-technical, Steering Committee, and Executive audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly identify potential issues and risks and craft innovative solutions.
  • The application of appropriate judgment and discretion in the resolution or escalation of project issues and recommendations to Steering Committee or Executive.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and ensure timely completion of project deliverables.

Additional Information

  • The successful Candidate will provide up thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hours per week** of services, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Pacific Time, excluding statutory holidays in British Columbia.
