What you will be doing:

As the new Warehouse Manager, you will report directly to the Director of operations and play a leadership role in managing day-to-day operations including direct, through subordinate supervisors, all shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities on an assigned shift; working closely with logistics, replenishment, and receiving teams to coordinate warehousing and distribution functions; monitoring labor, equipment, and production costs associated with shipping function and making improvements in operation to maximize efficiencies. 

 

Practically speaking, you will:

  • Provide motivation and development in a team environment.
  • Manage and maintain operations through KPI’s and other matrix reporting.
  • Take responsibility for overall warehouse safety and efficiencies.
  • Maintain/control inventory levels and accuracy.
  • Drive Asset Protection, Inventory Control and HR Initiatives.
  • Interact and build relationships with associates, leadership, and customers.
  • Accurately forecast labor needs based upon forecast volume.
  • Build and develop a culture around the company values, driven by safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Challenge team to identify and implement creative solutions to operational opportunities.
  • Drive operations through SOP while encompassing the entrepreneurial spirit and allowing opportunity for innovations.
  • Perform other related and incidental work as required in the completion of assigned tasks.

The details:

This is a permanent full-time management position. The ideal candidate will be based in Ontario, California, US, and work in the warehouse facility. This position offers a competitive salary to work for 40 hours/week from Monday to Friday. What you will bring:

·       An associate degree or greater, in Business Operations, Supply Chain Management or another related field. In the absence of formal education, significant and directly related work experience may be substituted. 

·       5+ plus years of related management experience with a proven track record in distribution center operations.

·       Warehouse management experience in either grocery retail or grocery distribution center

·       Over 4 years of experience in shipping, receiving, transportation and inventory functions in a conventional warehouse. 

·       An in-depth knowledge of all warehouse equipment and processes, warehouse management systems, refrigerated and/or grocery warehouse.

·       Proven leadership experience in managing direct and indirect resources.

·       Knowledge of personal computers and associated business software (MS-Word, Excel, and Access).

·       A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of management and staff. Good team building and facilitation skills, demonstrated by the performance of assigned teams.

 

A strong asset:

 

·       Experience in working in the unionized environment

·       Experience in grocery distribution center operations especially in dry, chill (perishables), or freezer departments.
