General Administration – Clerk 9 – Coordinator 2

Our automotive client is looking for a Labour Relations Coordinator to join their team for a 1 year Mat Leave contract located in Woodstock

Key Role Responsibilities
• Manages the hourly employment functions and processes such as onboarding and retirement, layoff/SUB, hourly job posting/transfer system 
• Reviews and processes hourly employment requests and applications in a timely manner
• Investigates and resolves hourly employment related issues 
• Manages and coordinates the recruitment initiatives
• Develops and facilitates the part-time employee/student programs
• Manages all work related and non-work related injury/illness claims and return to work processes to mitigate costs 
• Prepares and completes employment related reports for Canadian Headquarters
• Updates and manages hourly database and personnel records 
• Manages salaried timekeeping system for payroll; advises on pay and other remuneration issues for both salaried and hourly staff
• Conducts fact-finding investigations for Human Rights complaints
• Develops and manages the LR/HR tools and documents within the practice area 
• Liaises with both internal and external stakeholders regularly in a multi-faceted capacity
• Participates as an active member of the collective bargaining team
• Develops and implements policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management
• Interprets and advises on employment law for salaried and hourly staff, as well as Local Shop Committee
Preferred Skills and Experience
• Completion or working towards a CHRP/CHRL certification or minimum 3 years’ experience as HR Generalist
 

Education and Training
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
